Mile High Music Festival a Complete Success, Hosting 100,000 Fans in its First Year! Story & Photo Gallery
COMMERCE CITY, CO (July 21, 2008) - The bands have all packed up and headed home, (almost) all of the cars are out of the complex's parking lots, and crews are hard at work dismantling the 5 stages, miles of fencing, and various other tents and structures that had been erected around the complex to host this weekend's inaugural Mile High Music Festival.

Dick's Sporting Goods Park hosted the first-ever event on 18 of the complex's 24 soccer fields this weekend, July 19 and 20, and by all measures, the festival was a smashing success!
Approximately 100,000 people descended upon the world's largest professional soccer stadium & fields complex over the course of Saturday and Sunday to witness the largest concert event in the history of Colorado.
The temperatures reached the triple digit mark during the weekend, but complex staff worked on keeping fans hydrated through free water stations, shade areas, rehydration stations, and watering and misting areas, and reported very few heat-related incidents over the weekend.
By the time Tom Petty and Dave Matthews took to the main stage on both nights, fans experienced absolutely perfect Colorado evenings, with balmy temperatures and fabulous sunsets over the entire Front Range of the Rocky Mountains!
Concertgoers were able to witness live performances by over 40 bands on 5 different stages, as well as visit the festival's various merchandise and non-profit vendors, food booths, art displays, a microwbrewery bar, and even walk around the interior of the Rapids' home stadium to seek shelter from the sun!
Dick's Sporting Goods Park thanks all fans who made it out to the festival this weekend! We hope to see you back at the complex in the coming weeks for home Rapids matches, and stay tuned to DicksSportingGoodsPark.com for information on future festivals here at the complex!
