Dick's Sporting Goods Park Joins Rocky Mountain Greener Venues Partnership
COMMERCE CITY, Colo (January, 25, 2010) - Dick’s Sporting Goods Park took another step in their continuing leadership role as a “green” venue with the announcement today that the complex has joined the Rocky Mountain Greener Venues Partnership.
The RMGVP is a voluntary partnership focused on helping Colorado’s entertainment and sports venues improve the sustainability of their facilities.
Participating venues are committed to making measurable improvements in energy use, water consumption, materials and waste management, air quality and other areas.
Each venue pledged to join specific EPA, state, and local sustainability programs. Venues will also strengthen their economic sustainability by reducing operating costs and building a green reputation that makes their facility, and Colorado, an attractive location to live, work and play.
The EPA is currently hosting the “Our Planet, Our Stuff, Our Choice” video contest to promote awareness about environmental stewardship. Videos submitted for the contest will be used by EPA and the RMGVP venues to inspire individuals to take action and engage their communities in an effort to reduce, reuse, and recycle "our stuff."
