It's a Battle of Mexican Superpowers Chivas and Pachuca as Superliga Comes to DSG Park This Tuesday!
Commerce City, Colo. (ColoradoRapids.com)- The Colorado Rapids will host a 2007 SuperLiga™ match at Dick's Sporting Goods Park between Mexican first division powerhouses CD Guadalajara and CF Pachuca. The match will place on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 8 p.m. (MT) at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

The last two Mexican First Division Champions, both clubs are currently rated among the best sides in Mexican soccer.
Club Deportivo Guadalajara (Chivas), the 2006 Mexican Apertura champions, have established their club as the most recognized and devotedly supported team in Mexico. The club, established in 1906, has won a total of 11 local championships, including four in a row (1959-1962). Continuing a long-lasting tradition, Chivas Rayadas de Guadalajara have conquered all of their national and international championships utilizing only Mexican-born players on their team.
Las Chivas currently feature Mexican National Team players Adolfo “Bofo” Bautista, Omar Bravo, Hector Reynoso, Alberto Medina and Ramón Morales.
The reigning Mexican Clausura champion, Club de Fútbol Pachuca (Tuzos) was founded in 1901. It is better known as the first soccer team ever founded in Mexico and the first ever Mexican side to conquer a South American competition. Pachuca won the Copa Sudamericana in 2006. Since its inception, Pachuca has conquered five Mexican First Division championships, with the last one in the Clausura 2007 edition. The club took the CONCACAF Champions’ Cup in 2002, adding their first international cup to their trophy case.
Pachuca currently features players such as goalkeeper Miguel Calero, Juan Carlos Cacho, Luis Angel Landin, Andres Chitiva, Damian Alvarez and Gabriel Caballero.
